Thomas DeRenzo has a unique and creative history in the tradition of composing music for film. Born and educated in New York, he began his music education at an early age. Studying percussion greatly contributed to the development of a strong independent, musical sense. This is demonstrated in his composition technique which exhibits captivating combinations of rhythm and harmony. Using unique sonic textures, inspired by travels and the study of Italian, American and Russian romantic, classical and traditional folk music, the sonority of each composition and their effect is fulfilling and absorbing.
